Trick-or-Tastings!

With Halloween approaching in a few short days we thought, what can we do to make Halloween fun and special at Schram Vineyards?  Being as we have two small children, we will be doing the "traditional" trick-or-treating with our little cherubs for a bit.  But what about the adults?  We want our candy too, right?  Here is our guide to pairing candy with our wines and brews!

This was a careful (and fun) experiment!  Stop by on Thursday or Friday and get the bonus of some thoughtfully picked out candy pairings with your wine or beer tastings.  YUM!

Trick-or-Tastings!  Happy Halloween!

Wine and Candy:

Boots – Jolly Ranchers -  Try the sour apple flavor to kick it off and pick up the green apple flavor in the wine!

Sierra Victor – Candy Corn - Two classics that can’t go wrong.  Both go down easy!

Blossom – Sour Patch Kids - A perfect sweet and sour pair.  Lots going on in the mouth with all the flavors here.

Blush - Skittles -Bursting with fruit flavors.  Pick up a little strawberry?

Barrel 4 – Peanut Butter Cup/ M & M’s - Because you can’t stop after just one

Bonfire -  Hershey’s Milk Chocolate - Think s’mores over the campfire

Marquette – Hershey’s Kisses - Seal it with a kiss.  The subtle vanilla flavor in the wine pairs nicely with this classic chocolate.

Beer and Candy:

Mocha Monkey Coffee Ale Milk Duds - Care for a dash of milk in your coffee?  The full bodied candy gets washed down nicely with this beer.

Red Baron Ale - Peanut M & M’s - Because the malt and hops in this beer go hand in hand just like peanut butter and chocolate

Smoked Porter – York Peppermint Patties - Full flavored smoke and chocolate followed up with a little mint and chocolate

Scottish Ale - Swedish Fish.  It's like swirling a sugar stick in your sweet tea.

Hefeweizen - Laffy-taffy.  We are partial to the banana flavor as it picks up that fruit in the brew!

We'll have 8 beers on draft this weekend, but we just picked  4 for our candy pairings!
